eToro’s Europe subsidiary has opened its platform for individuals in France to invest directly in crypto assets. The Israeli-based multi assets and social trading investment platform said their existing ranges of investments are still available, but its French users can now trade the digital class.
Etoro Now Offers 62 Crypto Assets For Trading
This comes after eToro completed its registration and approval as a Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) from the French regulator AMF.
Also, the development is coming two months after eToro added four new tokens, increasing the total number of crypto assets on its platform to 62.
The firm noted that the license is a clear demonstration that it is committed to partnering with regulatory bodies to comply with its rules and regulations. It also noted that the registration is proof that it is committed to the protection of the funds of retail investors.
Regional Manager of eToro France Emmanuel Sackmann, while commenting on the development, stated that the goal of the network is to attract more investors.
“We are very proud to have received this registration from the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), he noted.
The market in France is a rapidly expanding one for financial services. Sackmann added that the company is excited to offer its users direct access to cryptocurrencies as part of diversified portfolio investment.
eToro Plans $1 Billion Capital Funding
A recent report revealed that eToro is planning to raise $1 billion through a private funding round. The company wants to expand its operations and networks across several regions with additional funding. When completed the round will be one of the largest ever raised by an Israeli tech company.
Additionally, the network is working to become a public company. However, eToro has not commented about the move and declined to confirm the funding or valuation. “We don’t comment on market rumors,” a spokesperson for the company stated when asked about the funding.
eToro was founded in 2007 to open up global markets for everyone to invest in a simply and transparent way.
