Dallas Mavericks, a pro-basketball club owned by billionaire Mark Cuban, has started offering free $100 BTC for downloads of its newly affiliated Voyager Digital App.
In an October 29 official release, the National Basketball Association team confirmed their offering free $100 BTC to all fans downloading the Voyager Digital crypto app.
All interested participants must download the Voyager Digital app before October 30 at 11:59 p.m CT and enter the promo code MAVS100. Moreover, participants are also required to deposit an initial $100 and make their first trading on the platform to receive the $100 BTC offers.
This reward program comes a few days after Dallas Mavericks successfully partnered with Voyager Digital to expand cryptocurrency exposure to its fans.
The partnership also aims at creating communication programs and fan promotions in exchange for naming rights to the Mavs Gaming Hub, the official gaming and event venue for the Mavs NBA 2K League team.
However, the affiliation mapped a transformative milestone in NBA rules that are now allowing teams to get international sponsors. Voyager Digital is now the first international sponsor of the Dallas Mavericks.
While commenting about the partnership at the time, Mark Cuban, CEO of Dallas Mavericks, insisted that the partnership will boost both franchises to grow:
“The Mavs are proud to welcome Voyager to the Dallas Maverick’s family. We believe our partnership with Voyager will allow Mavs and NBA fans to learn more about Voyager and how they can earn more from Voyagers’ platform than from traditional financial applications.”
Billionaire Mark Cuban Loves Cryptos
On several occasions, the billionaire investor has expressed his massive support for digital assets. For much of 2020 and 2021, Cuban has been a strong advocate of Dogecoin, asserting that the crypto coin has enough merits to become a currency with global reach.
He even allowed his Dallas Mavericks team to accept Dogecoin for payment of tickets and merchandise.
The billionaire investor, known for his participation in the Shark Tank TV show, has also invested heavily in various decentralized finance (DeFi) products. In this case, he assures that DeFi products may in the future compete with banks.
Despite showering his love in cryptos, Cuban has his own controversial opinions about the growth potential of Bitcoin vs Ethereum. Although the flagship crypto is the king in terms of market capitalization, Cuban strongly believes that Ethereum has the most upside potential because of its use cases and all smart contracts built around it.
In that context, the billionaire investor describes Ether (ETH) as the more real currency than Bitcoin, which he sees as just a competitor.
Although Cuban frankly believes Dogecoin is better than Bitcoin and Ethereum, the businessman has defended his opinion explaining that Mavericks fans preferred to pay with Dogecoin over Bitcoin because BTC was considered to be an appreciable asset.
