eToro is taking major strides in its sports sponsorship initiative. The cryptocurrency exchange has now announced sponsorship deals with eight prominent football clubs in Italy that play for the Serie A league.
The eight clubs are Bologna FC, Cagliari Calcio, Genoa CFC, Hellas Verona FC, Spezia Calcio, UC Sampdoria, Udinese Calcio and US Sassuolo Calcio. eToro will sponsor these clubs for the 2021/2022 season.
Gain Access to Marketing Opportunities
The terms of the agreement noted that the broker would gain exposure to a wide range of marketing opportunities enabled by the eight clubs. The exchange’s logo and name will feature on the LED boards during matches, on media backdrops, tickets and digital rights.
Besides partnering with the eight clubs, eToro has also signed a separate deal with US Salernitana 1919, yet another Italian football club. The terms of this deal will allow the exchange access to LED-only marketing opportunities.
Emanuela Manor, the Italian Regional Manager for eToro, also added that, “eToro believes that sponsorships are a powerful tool for connecting with the communities at the very heart of a sport. With more people than ever engaging with the capital markets this year, financial education has never been so important. We will be working with the clubs to make the financial markets more accessible, bringing fans closer to the action and educating them on investing.”
Boost Brand Recognition
Many crypto firms have been looking into sports sponsorships as a way of boosting brand recognition. Many sports fans have become major fans of cryptocurrencies, especially with the boom of the digital asset space this year.
eToro has been fully investing in sports sponsorships to grow its user base, especially now that it is looking towards being listed in the US. eToro has already secured sponsorship deals with iconic soccer teams such as Arsenal and a variety of other football clubs in the UK and Europe. eToro is also the main sponsor of AS Monaco, a French football club.
Besides making football sponsorship deals, eToro has also signed agreements with other sports teams. eToro is into a three-year sponsorship deal with Rugby Australia, with the deal commencing at the beginning of the year.
