Market Infrastructure firm SWIFT Network has announced the appointment of v as its new Chief Technology Officer. According to the announcement, McGuire was onboarded on August 2 and he will begin his new role immediately.
McGuire comes with over three decades of experience as a cybersecurity risk and advisory leader. She has handled several positions in the industry, with experience in operations, policy, and strategy.
McGuire will be overseeing the core infrastructure of the cooperative, making it stronger and more resilient for the emerging market trends. Additionally, she has experience in the technology and banking sector, which is also needed by SWIFT to facilitate communications and transactions.
As a global co-operative, SWIFT enables financial institutions to easily send and receive information related to financial transactions.
According to the organization, it partners with over 11,000 institutions with about 4 billion accounts in 200 countries. SWIFT hopes McGuire will help to grow its network and cement its place in the industry as the number one provider of information resources.
McGuire’s impressive resume
SWIFT says McGuire will be serving on the company’s Executive Committee. She will be reporting to Javier Pérez-Tasso, SWIFT’s Chief Executive Officer.
This appointment is coming at a period when SWIFT is planning to integrate into a more robust network.
Apart from her new role in SWFT, McGuire is also taking other roles outside the company, although it is believed she will reduce her activities there.
She has a role at Cyber Policy Initiative for Carnegie Endowment. She is also a member of the Board of Directors at Cybercrime Support Network. McGuire is also a board member at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). She serves at the International Cybersecurity Advisory Panel.
She has also served as a member of Advisory boards for four firms before her new roles. She was at the board of Tenable, X-Analytics (SSIC), Garrison, and SecurityScoreboard.
McGuire has also served as a Managing Director/ Chief Information Security Officer at Standard Chartered Bank while serving as Non-Executive Director at UK’s Cyber Defense Alliance Limited. She handled these roles in 2016.
