The parent firm of online money transfer service Skrill, Paysafe, announced earlier in the week that the payment platform has linked another 20 cryptos into its digital wallet. This move now provides users with more legacy onramp to digital assets.
From the start of this week, clients and users outside the US will have access to 35 cryptos in total, according to an official statement by the company. Cryptocurrency buys and sells services are also available in 48 US territories and states currently. That is impressive considering that the company expanded its services into the US market in March 2021.
The newly supported cryptos include the major DeFi assets like Balancer, Synthetix, Aave, Curve, SushiSwap, Compound, and Uniswap. Dogecoin (DOGE) and Polygon were also added.
NETELLER users will also get access to the expanded cryptocurrency wallet. NETELLER is another money transfer service within the Paysafe group. A senior vice president with Paysafe, Rupinder Singh, said:
“After a surge in overall activity in the industry, we’re seeing more interest in cryptocurrency than ever from our digital wallet customers, both current and new. We aim to make it even easier for consumers to get started in crypto using Skrill or NETELLER.”
Skrill was identified in early 2021 as a possible driver of crypto adoption. At that time, the payment firm was aiming for a major pivot to cryptos with fiat-to-crypto conversion services and full integration of Bitcoin (BTC) into its Quick Checkout module.
Skrill’s internal research from earlier 2021 noticed that among 8,000 users sampled, 28% think that cryptos are a good investment for the long term. 38% said that they had already acquired some cryptocurrency.
