Gemini has come up with a new feature to help its users and others that wish to invest in the crypto space. The Exchange’s president, Cameron Winklevoss, unveiled Cryptopedia on February 18. By description, Cryptopedia is a free educational resource that offers an open-access, high-quality introduction to the world of digital-asset investments.
Currently, the platform includes several categories that are devoted to cryptos, trading, security, investing, and decentralized finance.
Notably, Cryptopedia was designed for the subject matter experts to share ideas and knowledge about digital assets. The platform’s ‘Expert Network’ category features thought leaders and founders from some of the biggest projects in the sector; including Aave CEO Stani Kulechov, Brave CEO Brendan Eich, Tezos co-founder Kathleen Breitman, among others.
Even though the crypto markets have advanced and matured over the past few years, the need for education is still strong since the use cases of digital money are still limited. Even most of the projects operating within the crypto sector have identified education as quite essential to advancing adoption, mostly at the individual investment level.
Based on the most recent available data on the matter, crypto adoption is still in its very early stages. Studies done by the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance recently discovered that about 101 million people throughout the world currently own bitcoin and other digital assets. But, more education is necessary to increase the rate of adoption without encountering the challenges that affected early crypto adopters.
While unveiling Cryptopedia, Cameron said:
“We know that the lack of comprehensive education around crypto is one of the main barriers to entry and adoption for consumers — which is where Cryptopedia can help.”
Gemini is one of the leading crypto exchanges operating in the US. It has launched this free educational resource to widen the public’s understanding of virtual currencies.
