Crypto mining firm Hut 8 recently announced the appointment of Jason Zaluski as its head of technology. Zaluski will now be driving the growing product portfolio of the Toronto stock exchange-listed firm. He will also play a role in defining the company’s software development roadmap.
A crucial appointment for Hut 8
Zaluski was the founding member of Toronto-based blockchain startup AION which went on to raise $23 million. He will be working with CEO Jaime Leverton and oversee a wide range of IT operations related to the investment and mining services of the company. He has held similar toles at other entities in his 15-year career.
His last position was as the manager of Peak Corridor Consulting, a consultancy firm that specialized in crypto mining and blockchain infrastructure services. In his two years with the company, he worked with investors, analysts, hardware provides, and other preeminent organizations working in the space. His most well-known stint was as the founding member of blockchain startup AION. He co-wrote the project’s whitepaper and also led its product management in the initial days.
He also delivered the first blockchain project for The TMX Group with Nuco. It went on to become the benchmark for the company engineering velocity, design, application design, and analytics for all upcoming projects.
A strategic move by Hut 8
Leverton commented on Zaluski’s appointment and said,
“His experience as a strategic technologist alongside his proven track record for impactful IT operations management and entrepreneurialism will be vital assets to propelling Hut 8’s growth.”
He welcomed him to the team and said that they are excited to have him onboard.
Zaluski said that he is also excited to be working with Hut 8, which is uniquely positioned to grow in the market. He also noted that he is looking forward to contributing to the success of the organization in a year that has been significant for Bitcoin.
