Developers throughout the world can now begin creating projects on top of Tezos via China’s BSN. The Blockchain Service Network, China’s government-backed blockchain project, has officially confirmed the integration of the Tezos blockchain onto its international portal.
Tezos was chosen as the “one of the first batch of blockchains” to be linked into the BSN International, according to an official announcement on September 24. The BSN International is a global platform that provides access to public chain services on the BSN.
Developers can now use Tezos protocol via BSN’s global public city nodes and portals supported by this integration. There exists three global public city nodes as highlighted by the BSN. These nodes have integrated with the Tezos blockchain in both testnet and mainnet.
Up to today, BSN’s global public city nodes include locations in Paris, California, and Hong Kong. Developers are required to create an account on the official site to deploy and manage their permissioned chains on the BSN International. By accessing “Permissionless Services,” developers can create customized projects on the Tezos mainnet or testnet.
All APIs offered by Tezos can be analyzed in similar manners on the BSN as officially announced and the original data format is maintained. The BSN and Tezos executives are yet to comment on this development.
Official reports indicate that the BSN network aims to integrate up to 40 public blockchains by the end of June 2021. Tezos is one of the six blockchains in the first batch that also includes Nervos, Ethereum, NEO, IRISnet, and EOS. BSN also plans to integrate three more blockchains in ShareRing, Algorand, and Solana as the second batch.
China’s BSN network is a major government-backed blockchain initiative that was piloted in October 2019. It was originally designed to help small and medium-sized businesses create and deploy blockchain applications on permissioned networks. That program was officially unveiled in April 2020 for global commercial use. On the other hand, BSN International went live in August.
