CQG recently revealed that it had designed a new desktop version 4.10 in a bid to improve users’ trading workflow. The new CQG desktop version will have a lot of updates, including a new “Positions by Commodity” widget. According to the company, it’s looking to improve the trading workflow within the platform and make things more user-friendly.
The “positions by commodity” widget displays different commodity positions with sections for each monthly/yearly contract. With this new position, it will be easier for curve traders to view their trading positions in different months easily. Others that are holding market positions would also find the platform easier to navigate and see their trading positions all at once.
Also, it would be easier for traders to center their HOTs. Anytime there are more than a single HOT on one page, there would be an automatic button at the left side to enable traders to recenter the HOTs on the page easily. The platform will also allow traders to reset the HOT features with an easy click of the button. According to CQG, the idea is to make things a bit simpler and easier for traders on the platform.
Other additional features
Apart from the HOT feature, it’s now possible to visually separate symbols in the SST and QSS. They can do this by simply entering texts to form a row that would serve as the symbol separator. The trader can enter an apostrophe to display the text rather than its symbol. To get more highlights about the symbol, they can right-click and choose the color option they want. The user can go back to the text display by resetting the button.
This new version of the CQG portal has lots of enhancement features. One of the major updates is the ease of placing orders in HOT by clicking the buy/sell button in the column. Also, it’s now possible for traders to easily update the duration of orders. In other words, the order duration can now be easily customized through the Modify Order box on the platform.
When it comes to chatting, there is another update that traders would find interesting. There is now a weighted calculation for the study of moving averages. Also, there is now a DMI with an ADX study added to the platform. According to CQG, this addition would help users improve their forecast and market analysis.
An improvement on the previous version
The previous versions (especially versions 4.7 and 4.8) also had some enhancements. For example, the previous 4.7 version added updates on quotes and charting. Traders were able to arrange a QSS and SST in symbols.
Just like in other columns on the QSS-SST, when the trader clicks on that column, the entire entry will be arranged by that column. The step only requires a three-stage toggle. The trader can leave it in manual form or decide to arrange it in ascending or descending order.
With the addition of a new version, it’s obvious there will be more updates and more possibilities for traders and users of the platform.
