CQG, renowned for providing high-quality market data, technical analysis and superior trading tools has unveiled a heavy upgrade of its CQG Desktop platform. This upgrade improves quotes and charting performance to a high degree.
There are many aspects of this substantial upgrade. Perhaps the most notable is that it confers on traders the ability to sort QSS and SST by a symbol. Just like the other columns in QST/SST, traders can now click on the column header and sort this by column.
A 3-state toggle is also enabled via the upgrade. This means with a click on the column, traders can choose between ascending or descending, before reverting to manual sort.
Trades Made Easier
With the upgrade in place, traders can now simply right-click and cancel orders. This is available on both SST and HOT.
To activate this feature, a trip to the Preferences menu is needed. And then to Trading and Symbol Settings. There, the right-click to cancel orders option for SST and HOT must be toggled on.
Worth noting is the position of bracket orders. These are now present on the Order Ticket. More, the position margin featured in the Account Summary widget will now be directly acquired from the risk server.
Also, the dotted lines of the chart thermometer only encompass a 24-hour trading session. The net change thermometer or the default thermometer can be made visible by clicking on the gear icon located in the chart toolbar. A further click on the provided eye icon is required to feature the thermometer on the chart.
CQG Means Business
CQG is known for regularly updating and enhancing its products and for good reason. The CQG Desktop Version 4.5, for example, added columns that show yield values for all fixed income icons. More, traders were enabled to conceal market order buttons if they so preferred. And should HOT be in focus, the order size could be changed by inputting a number.
As for charting, a BATS (bid, ask, trade, settlement) setting was included. This can be modified as needed. To do this, traders can click the gear icon that is adjacent to the icon itself and modify the setting as they wish.
The variant of the trading solution unveiled in June also permitted filtering by any column in QSS. To enable this feature, traders are obliged to click the filter icon shown in the toolbar that is on the upper right part of the QSS screen. Doing this will unveil a filter bar located beneath the column headers.
Each featured column has a filter icon and any one of these can be clicked to modify the column. Next, a condition must be chosen from the drop-down menu.
This particular variant of the software platform also featured exchanges as a column in both QSS and SpreadSheet Trader. It also added an ISIN number to the CSPEC.
As regards trading in the 4.4 version, the child orders featured in brackets have a dissimilar active time limit than the parent order.
